Students were introduced to hatching and crosshatching techniques. They had the creative freedom to draw any image they wanted as long as they included highlights and shadows in their image.

3rd Grade- Tints and Shades
3rd grade students learned how to make tints and shades of a pure color. They created these abstract pieces by using tape!
Tint - lighter, add white
Shade- darker, add black
4th Grade - Metal Aztec Suns
Fourth Graders learned about a metal working technique called Repousse. This technique works by hammering/pushing on one side of the metal to create a relief.
They viewed images of the Aztec sun stone and brainstormed their own versions of this stone in order to create a design in their metal.
